Hi, I need a new set of tyres and I am finding it difficult to get a matched set. I have the 65 Trials version with an 18" rear and a 21" front. I am looking for a more road bias tyre, Enduro I think they are the style. Currently have a mixture of a 4 x 18 and a 90/90 21. Any pointers to a matched pair??

Do you still want **some** off-road capability? For purely road use a set of AM26 Avons, 90/90 x 21 front and 100/90 x 18 rear, works well on my AVL/Redditch hybrid.

Thanks for that, had a look at the Avon site and I like the look of the trail type tyre. My rear tyre is a 4 x 18 , what equivalent size can I use do you know? presuming mine is a 4inch width with the same profile? so 101mm wide . I think a 110/80 x 18 may be a smidge too wide, will need to measure. Good food for thought. rarely go off road, but like the look of the trail type. Thank you

All the tyre manufacturers should have the dimensions for each tyre on the specs pages of their web sites. The Avon so-called 4" x 18" AM26 is actually 116 mm wide (4 ⅜"!) and not really viable for the standard Indian Bullet swinging arm (I know, I bought one), while the 100/90 x 18 is 108mm wide and a much easier fit. That extra 8mm or 5/16" makes a big difference.

If you find an enduro profile you really like, and it's still a bit wide, our hosts sell a wide version of the swinging arm for this very thing, part no. 92602, though it's not cheap.

AFAIK the stated equivalent sizes for a 4" wide bike tyre are 110x90, or 4.60" in low profile, but again check manufacturers' specs for the exact width.

I'd be interested to know what you settle on, just in case mine ever needs to go beyond street scrambler trim.

Has a good giggle at the fitment guide for the 18" tyre, how many of these do you actually sell, Wayne? ;o)
