Bike is a 2016 standard 500 b5 Efi, was wondering what I would need to do to get an 18 inch rim in the rear? Would it just be a straight take off old rim, and stick on new rim, new tire. Or would there be more modifications such as chain or sprocket? Thanks

I have a 2016 b5 runs a 19inch tyre front and rear, only thing i changed was to chuck the dreadful avon skidmasters and fit a set of dunlop k81s.

Hey Alan R, to my knowledge, all B5 models are 19 both front and rear and can confirm that I have a 19 in the rear. The reason I'm looking to change is to get a better variety of tires available to me.

Ah----might be a North American spec. then ??........... Did you actually have a look at that link I posted ??...In one respect it sort of answers your original question I suppose ie}-- yes, you can have an 18" rim laced on OR.. maybe have a look for a wheel assy. with an 18" rim already on.....If you intend to have a new rim then your wheel-builder will need to know what section to look for........Here's that extract again....show him ( or her !!) this and they'll know what you need......( 110/80V 18 M/C 58V )...Anyone out there know what rim section VJ needs ??

PS}--- Do yoou have any Dams near you where you can have a photo of your bike taken ??....Seems to be a world-wide developing thing going on in this forum at the moment...LoL !!

Hi Alan R, yes I looked at your link, thank you for that, I realized that it was for the euro spec hence me listing the year and location of my motorcycle. According to the link posted and also according you what you have said, I guess it is possible for be to put the 18 inch wheel assy in the back so I guess I should try to buy one of those. Thanks.

P.s: No dams near my house sorry haha, live in sort of a urban area.
