When comparing the standard speedometer to the speed shown on a gps, it appears my speedometer is wildly optimistic: 80 kmph is only 67 kmph in reality.
I found a very nice digital speedometer with Hall sensor by Daytona, but it costs more than 200 euro with sending costs, not counting import tax for Norway.
This is the cheapest VDO bicycle speedometer, non-wireless. I mounted it as on a bicycle, but used a big magnet which I "mounted" (magnetism just holds it there) on the rim. Works perfectly.
I now have a clock, a precise speedometer, and a day trip meter.
This is maybe not the most elegant solution on a Bullet (highly anachronistic), but my bike is not a "Sunday motorcycle" or a thing of beauty, but a daily commuter (180 km per day).
