I have been told of the benefits of blanking off the oxygen sensor on the E3 continental, but what about the E4 ? I believe it's a different ecu, any thoughts would be appreciated

According to our host’s website the ECU inthe Euro IV models is much more advanced than the earlier one (it needs to be...). They clearly state under the Power Commander description that, unlike the other earlier ones, the O2 sensor must not be removed. I would imagine that the appropriate map in the Power Commander still needs a varying input from the sensor. On the older ones the sensor is removed and the Power Commander map doesn’t need any input. It is also possible that the new models has a wide band O2 sensor that measures emissions over the entire rev range. The short answer is leave it alone.

Yes leave O2 alone as a general rule but a power commander should be able to be set up to make the neccessary adjustments if you go for a clean downpipe. I have kept mine on my Euro 4 but have used the host air injection elimination kit to clean up the front end and that is not an issue.

The host website specifically states that on the Euro IV the O2 sensor should remain in place with the Power Commander fitted.

thanks guys, there's nothing I find particularly aesthetically offensive, i'm just looking for as much bang for my buck so to speak without spending a fortune, …. the performance is ok as it is, if i'd wanted a fast bike but it'd have bought one, that said it would be nice for it to be as good as it can be, so any tips would be great

I’ve found nothing on the Euro IV models yet, although there’s plenty of (absolutely) no cost tips and tricks for the Euro III models if you search for them on the more technical enfield forums to increase performance and improve general ride-ability. I’m sure stuff for the latest generation bikes will start appearing soon.
