Scaley. At the risk of winding you up further the bit of the DVSA website you were looking at explains the current regulations. So strictly speaking it is correct until 20 May. However elsewhere on their website (which I was quoting from in my rarlier posts) explains the regulations post 20 May.

Sort of people who spell 'Banker' with a 'W', 'Hunt' with a 'C', etc.

I made a complaint on the DVLA website (I'm sure I wasn't the only one). The form has now been updated. Mine will be going to the post office tomorrow.

Sorry, I read that wrong, so they have it on their website, but not referenced from the section that it concerns?

My car is fifty this year, so presumably the following doesn't apply:

(GB only) A vehicle other than a public service
vehicle registered or manufactured 40 years
ago and which has not been substantially
changed in the last 30 years.

Hi folks, just been on to the DVLA website to tax my crusader (MOT ran out last month and I wasn't going to get it redone and put the bike on SORN.)
Went through the usual process and it said it would check for an MOT, then it came up with "vehicle is over 40 years old and maybe except from MOT" or something similar. I clicked to say it was MOT standard and got the tax!! No extra forms and no hassle.
