Just to clarify, in my Enfields ATF has worked better than engine oil (the original recommendation for Redditch machines) and ATF type F worked better than later Dexron types. However this is an oil thread and therefore a rabbit hole of subjective judgement!

Still don't understand why you'd not want friction modifers. Each to their own I suppose.

People, people, is it worth getting excited over a question of RED oil? I tried both in my Enfields ( Redditch & Indian ) and I found type f very poor and stick with DexronIII. I like my clutch unslippy.
