Hi, I have a 2016 C5 and wonder what the fuel tank actually holds. I have always found that quoted volumes are ambitious and as the tank also holds a pump and low fuel monitor, I suspect the useable volume is less than quoted. I have decided not to bother renewing the faulty low fuel indicator so if I know the actual amount, mental arithmetic should keep me safe.

I treat it as a three gallon tank, once the low fuel light illuminates steadily I can get two gallons in, so one gallon reserve.

As the handbook suggests the low warning is for 2.5 litres, perhaps we should assume its 2.5 gallons.

The hand book also says feul tank capacity is 13.5 ltr.which is three UK gallons.

Managed to fit 14.5 liters inside my B5 tank once. I believe it has the same tank which is fitted to the C5. Generally I try to hit the pumps every 300 miles to avoid the chore of filling up, but usually end up calling into a garage just to get rid of some loose change.

Pretty much fit 11 litres in every time I fill when the light starts coming on when braking. Ties in with a 2.5 litre reserve, making a 13.5 litre tank. That's on the centre stand, brimming it.
