Hi my brother has a 5 speed box on his 500 sixty five bull it and it's perfect, no false neutrals!and only goes down the box one gear at a time! Oh such luxury!!

Hi Martyn,

my admittedly limited experience with the 4 speed box (Redditch and Indian) means I am a firm fan of the Indian 5 speed box, no contest!

You'll want the right foot conversion for your bitsa, up to you whether you want the 1 up and 4 down change pattern or the 1 down and 4 up, cheaper and Triumph rider-friendly!

Hi Guys---------Hi Martyn....The late Professor Stephen Hawking used to postulate as to the existence of a "Black Hole" in Space...........Well, he was almost correct because it actually lives in a 4-speed Enfield gearbox between 3rd and 4th !!....................I'm on my second Bullet '65 and def. WON'T be looking for a 4-speed machine ever again !!

Fit the 5 speed box. You'll spend the rest of your Bullet riding 'career' wondering why you didn't do so earlier.

If it’s a gear change problem, have you set up the selector mechanism correctly? I’ve found it gives best results when it’s not positioned right in the middle but placed to give a slight advantage to going down the gears where the foot muscles responsible for moving the gear lever are weaker.

I have both. 4 speed 350 and 5 speed 500.
No contest. The dust is almost an inch thick on the 350 seat it gets so little use.

Need I say more ?
