Hi.

Would the Battery APH have any bearing on starting difficulty with 1955 Bullet. Converted it to 6v Coil and Ignition. Was starting and running fine on old battery but replaced battery with new 6v slim battery and now finding it much more difficult to start, hot or cold.

Regards.

It could do although on the face of it, it sounds unlikely. The logic being that even a small battery should provide enough amperage for the ignition but almost certainly not the lights as well. A test with a different battery should be cheap enough to try? Your description of 'before' and 'after' the battery change seems to point to a battery problem pretty clearly!

Hi Mark.

Many thanks for your reply. The new battery I used was only a 2aph. I have ordered up a new 6v, B38-6A battery. Will let you know if that solves the problem.

Beat regards.

Crikey, 2ah? I didn't know you could get a 6v one that small! I reckon at 6v a coil ignition system is probably pulling 3a or maybe more, I'm sure someone will have the figures!
