Gazbo - I think you'll find the nut does come off the NGK iridium plugs - though you'll probably need a pair of pliers to remove them initially. I've never seen an NGK iridium plug that doesn't have a removable nut - and I've seen a few hundred.

Thought it only fair to post my results, after much rambling on !

job done.
Much improved spark. starts on second throw, as opposed to 6th !(From Clap cold) runs sweeter, and revs are (Slightly) more responsive.
All that with 15kOhm of total resistance !
Champion cap looks nicer and more Brit too.
(I did fit rubber seals to both ends, and dielectric greased the terminals inside !)
cheers for the inputs guys.

Presto - thanks for that, but alas - no - this one doesn't. it is definitely a solid (Gold anodised) cap nut thing, integral to the plug.
I know exactly what you mean, but this one has no tapped bore present, nor will it budge(Not wanting to bust the ceramic at any rate - which I would do if I tried any Harder.)
Research has indeed now shown this to be the case. I was just unlucky in buying this particular plug, but - because I now have the cap to accept the ones with nuts fitted (Or indeed this "solid" animal) I shall never again have a problem. if I buy a plug with a thread, I have spare nuts from my old 600 fazer plugs which can be retro-fitted, hence the bigger style cap is best of both worlds !(My original intention)
