Hi, I just found out that Ian Murrays at Bilsten Glen, Edinburgh which was the local RE dealer, had a fire and went into liquidation in December. That's where I recently bought a C5 enfield and expected it to be serviced. Eclipse motorcycles at Tranent used to deal in REs and service them but it was some years since I used them and I think they might now specialise in Scooters. I would like to know if there is a place near Edinburgh for RE.

Tranent is where I bought my RE 350 last November.Nice bunch of guys who now are dealers for scooters.They occasionally sell bikes on behalf of RE owners who originally purchased enfields of them.Ian Murray is a bit of a shock
as that leaves either AMR in Renfrew or Sandy Bloy in Perth as your nearest dealers.Surely another dealership will open back up in Edinburgh.

Hi Guys------During the late 1960's I was an ERA Apprentice with the RN based at HMS Caledonia, Rosyth.......Do any of you chaps "North 'o the Border" remember Alexander's motorcycle shop in Edinburgh ??....

There was an Alexander's in Semple Street City centre who were a Ford car dealer and also sold Motorcycles.Graham Chatham was another car dealer who sold motorcycles at that time.

Just heard that Saltire in Edinburgh is now an RE dealer. I think they were a dealer for about 5 minutes 3 years ago.

This could be good news.Been in there, its a big dealership with plenty of back up.Very helpful and friendly staff.

I enquired at Saltire Motorcycles in W Edinburgh. Their reply:
We can certainly accomodate your for the MOT but at present, we're still collating the necessary information with regards to stock and service parts along with service tools. I anticipating that we will be all up an running for Enfield servicing for early April.

AV Superbikes now open in Armadale. Not an RE dealer but strange how this then non-existing dealer was listed on the RE importers website back in February.
