Alan R: So no RE for you anymore??? Re a run/meet up, well, I've more or less given up on a small convoy/group thing after the last few attempts and being messed about. However, I've recently been doing some RE reading and back in the days of yore the REOC, as was then, back in the 60's, used to pay a visit to the factory on Good Friday every year. The thought did cross my mind for a meet up at the factory site on Good Friday this year, probably in the afternoon, now that the redevelopment is 99% completed, followed by either a stop off at the RE pub in the town for some nosh, a yak, and maybe a little trip out in the countryside, or the other way around for the latter two. Somat' like that anyroad. But, as I mentioned previously, being messed before about sort of puts me off the idea.

Chris.

Yes I know; only joking. You sound more like my sister-in-law who comes from Penkridge, which I visited often until last year when my mother had to go back into a care home and her house was sold. Asa young man I used to hang out at Milford, on the edge of Cannock Chase. I remember seeing a Kawasaki Z1 for the first time then. Worth a fortune now...

Hi Chris----slight change of plans----I'm now staying with the Red Baron ( Bullet '65 ) but still selling the 750 Triumph Tiger and the Honda XBR 500 ( Anyone interested ?? )....I'd go along with a meet-up for a Breakfast ( anywhere ) followed by a ride to the Factory followed by a trip to the Pub for a late dinner or tea...Let's keep the idea active via a dedicated thread on this Forum which we can up-date from time-to-time ?.......In the past I've had some success by advertising a particular run that I'm going on anyway but have invited riders to join me at the start.....For example BEEZABRYAN's meet-up at that Pub in Leicestershire in the Spring...........A run up to the Ponderosa............A ride over to Lake Vyrnwy------- A day trip along the full length of the SVR ( the Bike meet at Arley )......A visit to Sleap Airfield Museum......These are all ones that I have planned for myself anyway but am happy for others to join in....There's only the one time given and that's the departure time from the Breakfast place...other than that it's a free-and easy scenario...
