Prevent rust?

Keep it dry, keep it warm.

AHHHhhhhhh !!-----------Bliss !!.......But doesn't that position mean you are going "Head-to-head" with the exhaust pipe ??.......Oh well, as long as the bike is of an Adult age I suppose it's legal ??.....Hmmm.

Aren't those Ammo cases in the cupboard ??..........

Scalyback's photo reminds me of my brother's love for his old 67 Harley chopper.
He parked it next to his waterbed and walked in to find the stand gave way and flooded the room.

Well, in the end I bought some high temperature lacquer, roughened up the exhaust very lightly with fine abrasive paper, cleaned with white spirit, and then sprayed with the lacquer. I have had a couple of outings in the rain since then and so far so good. The finish is not quite as good as when the chrome was un-roughened and polished, but it's close, and way better than silver paint.

Something tells me this is all too good to be true and the lacquer will flake off soon. We'll see.

head to head with the exhaust pipe? No, it's called a '59' (1959).
