Is it TCI or CDI. If it is TCI there will be screws around the primary cover. If it is CDI there will be only the centre bolt that holds the cover on. I have one of the CDI 350 Electra's that was imported from India. There is not much written up about these motorcycles. They were converted in India to CDI and called Electra. They were meant for the home Indian market only, but a few of them were exported.
You will find nothing about these motorcycles on the internet and Hitchcock's will not be able to help either. The ignition wiring is fairly simple and if you have one of these Bullet 350 CDI conversion motorcycles then I may be able to help. I have had mine apart from time to time and so I know where all the wires go.

The original 350 Electra was a factory model launched with as standard CDI in 2002, but they changed it to TCI the following year (see the model time line in Gordon May's book "Made in India"). CDI was also fitted to the 350 AVL models until the Electric start versions were launched, when they too went TCI.

Half of my reply wasn't posted for some reason.

It's no big deal to retro-fit a CDI or TCI crank to any set of metric 350 Bullet cases if you have the right chain cases, so I can see why Indian dealers would do this, particularly if re-using a set of crankcases where the timing chest had been damaged and the (OK, I give in) distributor idler gears could not be used.

Thanks for the the replies the bike is TCI as it has loads of metric screws holding the primary cover on , the bike has a lovely constant spark better than my other enfield with battery/elecronic ignition. just after a drawing and information on the ignition system , massive thanks to TIM NZ for the wiring diagram.
