Crikey mate, you must have a really sore throat by now !!--LoL !!.....That's very nice indeed...I bet you're looking forwards to when it's all bedded in and you can give it a bit of a work-out on the Queen's Highway ??....... I'm hoping to get my Bullet '65 bottom end down to Paul's place some time later in 2018 for the same treatment along with an alloy barrel but intend to keep the top-end as standard...One of those 9:1 forged pistons will complete the reliable touring package that I'm aiming for...When yours is running try posting a short video ???

Hi Alan R

Will do..

I'll be staring work on the drive side tomorrow.

Should have the clutch all fitted up over the weekend.

Not changing much that side other than Mr H's up-rated clutch kit with the extra plates.

Then reinstate the electrics to the ign system and check tighten everything before lift off.

Sling a pair of Avon Road riders on and pootle about for 500 miles..

Change oil adjust accordingly and give it some up the A20..

Well clutch sides altogether but won't turn over on kick start... Wonder if something is binding up?... Turns over OK with socket on crank but seems a little tight... Will investigate tomorrow..

Loosened the timing cover and the engine turns over quite freely now.... Just trying to prime the oil feed... Right legs like jelly lol... Once the oil comes through I'll stick the battery on and have a go at starting it..

Hi Tom, it would be wise to follow up with why the engine freed off with the timing cover screws slackened. If you have shims on the cams, I would take them off, or, if you are using a cork seal in the worm nut, the quill bolt may be compressing it - if so, this is ok and can be verified by tightening the timing cover screws again and slackening the quill bolt a little, or you may want to consider a thicker timing cover gasket. Regards, Paul.
