looking at a wiring diagram for a 2006 royal enfield electic start and the kill switch on the rhs handle bar is not shown , red/black Wires to and from switch . Does anyone have an idea as to where the feed to the switch and from the switch goes?

Probably one wire to points side of coil other to points. A black red wire also goes to ignition switch to earth points when ignition turned off. To stop bike please use decompresor! If it is the Indian bike you mention it might not be. Snidal has an Indian wiring diagram not sure if applicable to you. Google Snidal to find pdf. Check colour of wires on coil.

My reply is based on a classic iron barrel, which was still being sold after the electra x came out. If it is an electra x this is probably wrong, you did not specify model!
