Thank you for all your responses and suggestions.
I look like I am going for either a Sixty 5 or 535 GT, Dad really wanted a 350, but that's only cos he knows them well, he's come round to my way of thinking - I think.
As for £12K for a Ducati, sorry but that's not happening, unless I pay a visit to a Bank with a saw off cheque book, but I will never find one that's open these days round here. I will be keeping my current Ducati, the RE is going to be a second and commuter bike.
Now I've made my mind up I will be searching for a bike in the new year, this Santa fella gets in way of everything.
I hope you don't mind, but as I new to this brand, you are likely to get some silly questions, or is there a website that I can find useful.

There's no silly questions here matey, we've all got a sense of humour. I comes with the brand, alongside the resignation that you'll be burned up by pizza delivery bikes. Here it's just mostly questions about fixing things that weren't broke until you tried to fix 'em. You'll get what I mean when you start buying go-faster bits and the bloody bike says "60 mph? You're 'aving a laugh!" and decapitates the second new piston this year. But you do get to boast that your bike will do 100 mpg and other Oilfield owners will seriously believe you even though they've never got more than 50 mpg. And some of the top speeds - that's always good for a chuckle. Don't take the bike or yourself too seriously and you'll have a laugh and there will always be someone who 'had one of these in the war' to talk to.

Pete, you say your Dad knows the 350s and that's why you'd prefer one? Well your Dad will be happy with the classic 500 Bullet engine because it is an enlarged 350. You have to remember that Redditch made the 350 first, then the 500 and the Indians did the same. Most components up to the barrel are the same and the top end parts are just bigger versions of the 350 items so happy days await! If you get a 60/5 the gearbox is a different animal, a modern designed 5 speed but since you won't have to touch it all should be well there too! As for alternative websites you could try the Facebook Group at Royal Enfield UK but this is probably the best overall.

As I settle into Bullet ownership, I wish I had a 5 speed but they are rare where I live.
It has to be an improvement over the 4 speed.
