A dipstick wouldn't make the slightest difference. The issue, as has been mentioned above, is that the engine has compartments in which oil can and does gather. It is this that needs to be addressed, unless it already has been. I've been on more than one forum where the complaint is that the dipstick reading is inconsistent or the dipstick is a dark colour so cannot be easily read. Given the choice my preference would be for dry sump,design with a separate oil tank into which one can peer. Simples.

Give it three kicks from cold with the ignition off. Seems to move oil to be on the glass if the oil level is correct (I measure it in). I'm sure its an imperfect method, but given the bike doesn't burn or leak oil I'll take the risk.
