I have a Continental GT efi. Shortly after purchasing it new last year it failed to start. All of the electrics worked ok, all of the fuses were intact, but the petrol pump failed to make the usual priming buzz. I checked the prop stand switch and the clutch lever switch, lubricating with a squit of WD40 and also gave the same treatment to the kill switch, all to no avail. The motor turned over on the starter and the dash display activated as normal. Being unable to trace any loose wires or connectors, I left it in disgust overnight. The following morning I gave it another try and everything worked normally, first go !.After that, I had no further trouble until today when the fault re-occured. I have carried out all checks as previously described with no response. Any ideas out there?. Has any Continental owner had a similar experience?

I had the same problem my local garage checked the relay connections found them loose that may be your problem

Check fuses and relays and also check a little wire that clips into the left handlebar lever, if its loose, just push it in.

Many thanks for the replies. Does anyone know the location of the pump relay?. I've checked the clutch lever switch and that is OK.

Many thanks to Chris R, Papasmurf and Vijayinder for assistance with this problem. Papasmurf correctly identified the pump relay and having checked the pt/no. I tried substituting the relay with the one immediately above it. The pump worked !. I repeated the substitution a few times to make sure it wasn't coincidence with the same result. Now all I need is a replacement for the duff one.
