Nicxe Nice Nice. Being introduced in the Milan show this week. I trust it will be at the Brum show on the 26th. Also releived to see it's still air cooled and looks totally RE.
Anyway my point is that I note that the horspower is being kept under 50 to encourage more "not fully qualified" riders. Question. Will there be an option for an unrestricted version or will our hosts have a quick fix to bring out the full horsepower for the rest of us? And can RE let us know the full horepower potential - like - now!.

I’m suspicious of those bhp figures and claims that power has been ‘restricted’. If previous experience is any guide then the probability is that the given bhp figures represent the simple reality that as designed and constructed that is its max power – that no ‘restriction’ has been applied. Or am I just cynical?

I would be more worried about the build quality and reliability than power output.

One line in a press reelease caught my eye: "The Indian team and the team at the UK test centre are equally involved with the development and RE is confident that its testing regime is up there with the most stringent in the world. The result should be significantly higher levels of quality than we've seen with previous products."

A track test can be no guarantee of build quality in volume production started. Is the Indian factory really up to it? History suggests not.

The rules have changed with EuroIV regarding the restriction of full power bikes; they have to be designed as restricted now. My guess is that it'll be aftermarket specialists like our hosts who learn how to extract more power. The CEO of RE has said that home market sales get priority. I doubt there's much call for over 50bhp there. Whatever, I can't see Triumph being worried. I won't be rushing out to order one; best to wait for the pioneers to return with arrows in their back first.

Presto. I get your point. I looked it up and got the following:- “Riders restricted by this A2 licence category can ride a motorcycle with a power output of up to 35kw (47bhp). This can include motorcycles that are restricted too so long as they don’t make more than 70kw (94bhp) as standard”. So RE could have just restricted a higher power to the 47bhp required to be “ A2 licence friendly”. Short sighted or what? I'll stick with my Classis 500 thanks.

I understand development is in UK - build and primary market will be India. For the Indian market the fairly soft power output will not be any disadvantage. This bike has been developed in UK but not primarily for UK. We maybe need to remember that in commenting on the design.

270 degree crank.
6 speed gearbox.
Slipper assist clutch.

Looks like a larger front brake disc.

Due in europe first, approx' April 2018, then rest of the world during 2018.

Price: T.B.A.

Weight: Sub' 200kg,and low down too.

The idea of a 750 was never on the cards. R.E says the 750/800 cc market is crammed, and originally they were going for a 600. These bikes are, for some, for those who love the singles, but want a bit more. However, they have taken the highest standards of emissions, safety, regulations etc., the world over to create a one spec' machine for the world over.

New tie up with S & S for exhausts.

All accessories have been designed from the ground up alongside the developement of the bike itself.

And I must say the Interceptor looks a lot better in the flesh than all the spy shots I've seen.
