Thanks for all the replies very much appreciated.The Enfield is laid up for the winter now.Come spring I will fill up with fuel and investigate.Tried searching the site for that clutch cover strengthener but couldnt find it.

In the 2016/17 Enfield parts book}----page 52 ---- item No. 90221 ---- Clutch cover strengthener..

I have posted this a few times on here, but if all else fails, try this method; particularly the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) Type F for Fords. It can tolerate very high temperatures and won`t gum up the clutch plates.
