I use hypoid gear oil but 50w is also ok. Don't listen to doom sayers who say hypoid will rot your phosphor bronze bushes, it's fine. Don't use grease, Indian gearboxes use grease but Redditch ones are fine on oil. Fine tuning of gearbox on the road is not unusual although your problem may well be the detent plunger. Don't overtighten it, it's just there to index the gears not stop it jumping out of gear. And when do we get to see some pictures?!

Bike is now 99.9% complete, eventually changed inner and outer ratchet in order to achieve smooth gear changing, still getting the occasional false neutral on the road if I am a bit heavy footed, only difficulty is getting neutral when coming to a stop, just need more practice. I have ordered a set of 3 light and 3 heavy clutch springs springs from Mr H and I will reset the clutch as ther is just a bit drag.
The gear box situation was shown up by having a run out on my mates rebuilt 1960 Triumph T100 really nice gearbox but did not like the riding position so still happy with the Bullet. Man flu this week has stopped further play , still wrestling with photo bucket , now trying imagebb.com as recommended by a contributor to these notes.

I opened an account with imgbb, loaded photographs but cant find any instructions on how to sent images to other sites and I thought gearboxes were problematic?

Hi ARTY------- try this}--1) At their home page entitled-- "UPLOAD AND SHARE YOUR IMAGES.".. go to the bottom of the page and left clik onto the blue box entitled--- "START UPLOADING"....2) Select your image, left clik onto it..This will take you into the next page which is entitled...."EDIT OR RESIZE ANY IMAGE BY CLICKING THE IMAGE PREVIEW"...Below this will be your image and below that is a Green box with UPLOAD in it......3) This will take you into the next page entitled UPLOADING and then eventually the next page which has at the top a green circle with a white tick in it...below that it says "UPLOAD COMPLETE." ... below that is your image and below that says "EMBED CODES".. left click on Viewer Links for a drop-down menu.....Click onto "HTML Full linked"...Hover your pointer over the lower, longer box and you will see "COPY" appear in it's top right hand corner.....Left click on that and the long box will momentarily glow a yellow colour.....4) You now go to the Hitchcocks page that you are writing in and "Click and paste" in the normal way.....The HTML code will now appear in your text BUT will change to a photo when you finally click "POST REPLY" ...

It might take you a bit of time to start with so don't forget to "Save" it all before posting the reply or you'll find you've been timed -out and lost the lot !! ( Ask me how I know that bit of info !! )
