I'm definitely not an Engineer, was called a HGV mechanic in the 80s, have also been known as a Peugeot Master technician in the 90s. but I like to think of myself now as a 21st century talented 24hour a day roadside mackler upper......and on a good day my repairs last over 100 yards :-)

By the way I love Papa Smurfs chain hoist. I use the same idea but with ratchet straps as it look less like I have an S&M dungeon in my garage when the doors open .lol

AA maniac, it isn't a chain hoist. It is just chain for safety reasons. I use it to make sure bikes don't fall over on top of me when working on them. Especially when using a cruiser jack on my wife's VS800 which has no centre stand.
In the picture than was me getting reading to fit aa sub-frame to the K75S to fit side-car.
As that entails removing the plate bolted to the bottom of the bike which holds both the side and centre stands, there is somewhat of an instability problem.

Papasmurf , that is what sets you apart from a mere parts swapping mechanic...the ability to foresee a problem and find a work around.
