Hi I have a '94 500 Bullet thats developed a rattle on the top end- -only noticed it when I changed to a quiet exhaust.
Just changed the oil and adjusted the tappets. Its not there when the engine is cold. Ive checked and there is oil getting to the rockers. please have a look at the vid- https://youtu.be/QdnwKfXShH0

i had a valve seat come loose (inlet) had it fixed now but not cheap to get done ,,

Self-adhesive thick felt is available, some in A4 size. Some early OHV cars had it inside their rocker covers to dampen the noise. Be careful, make sure that it is good quality, so it doesn`t disintergrate (highly unlikely) and block the oil lines.
