Have uploaded a few photos, the decals say it's a twin spark if that helps, and I'd say looking at the tyres they would definitely need to be changed to be uk compliant as it's a strange tread pattern

Hi Matty

Just picked up on your thread - I came by a (grey import) similar to yourself. Manufactured 2003 - Brought into the country in 2005 but not registered - 545KM on clock - Spent the next 10 years under a tarpaulin until I was offered.

I had shipping papers but had no import duty certification papers and no registration/log book. Cut to the chase, under the guidance of Tom Bray and Graham Scarth REOC achieved confirmation of a manufacture date (Thanks again Tom & Graham)

Then approached HMRC in trepidation thinking I might have a back dated duty to pay! - They couldn't have been more helpful - (felt sorry for me I think!) email:- [email protected]

They replied:-
1) You should have been handed either a C&E386 or C&E388 as proof that customs formalities were dealt with correctly. If so, pass this onto us and no taxes will be due.

If you have the customs papers, please forward the C88 (the customs release or acceptance document) along with his sales invoice. Hopefully this will be an acceptable substitute for the C&E386/C&E388 that he should have obtained.

2) Could you supply a copy of bill of sale / transfer of ownership document (if you had one).

3) If you were not given any customs forms and have no bill of sale / invoice we will need a valuation. As you have said that you have had problems in obtaining one, we can get from our valuation unit in Dover. You will need to request that this is done.

I had none of the above and after submitting (Indian Website comparables) we agreed a value and paid an agreed/affordable duty. Took photos with lots of minor surface rust to help with valuation :)

Got MOT'd with (Indian Tyres) but did change as over 10 years old and whilst looked new they were past their best - Went for MITAS H01 & H02 (But this will cause a debate but I don't do much mileage and have found to be really good)

KMH Speedo/Headlight (not a problem)

The above aside suggest you ensure you drain all oils/add new and any petrol and replace oil filter (but leave that to you)

Hope above helpful and good luck:-
