Had a good ride ruined buy leaking karcoma fuel tap bowel. It seems the previous owners have overtightened it and buggered the stupid plastic bowel. I will araldite it in while i sort out a better tap. It look like the adaptor assy will unscrew fron the tank. So i want a tap with just on/off/reserve that will screw into the tank but leave me enough roon to turn the tap without fouling the tank bottom, i have a line filter fitted and a bit of increased flow wouldnt go amis, iwould prefer somthing turney to a slidey one.she is a 2006 bullet 65.what is the thread into he tank? Suggestions please o wise ones.

I was amused by the spelling of bowel as well but I shall rise above it and answer the question. I used this tap, part number 141541 on a recent build and was impressed by the fit and usefulness. The handle bit is a bit flimsy but as long as you're not clumsy with it it'll be fine. Get the Dowty washer to go with it and leaks (here we go again) will be a thing of the past!

Dowty washers! Why did not I think of them last year (and the year before) when I was in need.

Ziggy,

it's most likely to be a 1/4" BSP thread, which was common on lots of old British bikes. Your local classic bike emporium should have something which will save you paying postage to NZ from our hosts.

Thanks guys, sorry about the spelling. I will give myself a damn good thrashing. Maybe a good idea not to post in the early hours. I will get a tap underway. FYI my last parts delivery from Hitchcocks was ordered on Sunday evening and delivered to beautiful Blenheim in South Island New Zealand by Friday morning. Awesome service.👍👍The Wife just spell checked this for me, good grief what have i become!

The trick, of course, is being able to change the fuel tap when you have just filled the bloody tank up...
