I don't think that 2W incandescent indicator bulbs draw enough current to make a difference. I use the LEDs because they are bright enough to actually SEE in daylight. The main bulbs on the turn signals are a different story. I tried to upgrade my bikes to an all-LED system, but even with a "load-independent" flasher, I could never make it work properly. Finally settled for LED on the front and 20W incandescent in the rear (with LED indicator). Brighter than stock with about the same power drain.

Thanks for all the replies. I have ordered the bulbs from 'superbrightleds' so hopefully the indicator tell tale will work correctly. The original instrument bulbs are great in the dark but virtually useless in the daylight. Quite important to be able to see them, especially the mil light and fuel light.
