i did a puncher for a Frenchman at a rally last year he was on a new enfield the tyre was very tight on the rim ,,, never had this before on a spooked wheel it was as hard to remove as a tubeless rim .

so as some one as pointed is the tyre fully to the rim ,,

He won't have a "Ghost" of a chance if it's got one of your "Spooked" wheels I'd say !!..LoL

I had a rear wheel 'walking' after changing a tyre, took 100 psi(ish) to get it beaded. Once done, problem gone.

Please note do not blow up a tyre to 100psi unless it is a safety cage. (People do die when they don't.)

All done in a safe manner, I let the local tyre shop take the risk. (Would never of got to that pressure with a foot pump).

I've just managed to acquire one of these death wobbles also, but this is on a bike which holds a perfectly straight line when hands off and composes itself within a second or two after giving the end of the handlebars a good thump with the palm of the hand at around fifty mph.

so what's changed ? Well I'm currently 'on tour' so I have more weight at the rear of the bike than normal, I picked up a slow puncture just before leaving home so put in an extra 2 psi in the front and rear tyres and in my hurry to see if I could move the snail cam another notch before leaving I forgot to use a balled rag between the lower chain run and the sprocket to ensure the wheel sat tight against the locating pins.
so the cause of my low speed wobble as soon as a take my hands off the bars is one or more of the above not forgetting the slightly misaligned rear wheel.
Now I've unpacked, lowered the tyre pressures and realigned the wheel the wobble has disappeared.

Ps the puncture was in the front and was still 2psi above normal pressure on arrival at my destination

Never did find out if skidmarks deathwobble got sorted. It is good for the other readers of the forum if a person that posted with a problem and found a fix, to post it up so every body can benefit from the information.

It would appear that an over inflated tyre was suspected to be the cause.
