Got a bit of a strange one on my 2016 Classic 500.
When the bike is cold all is ok and everything is smooth. Once warm it is near impossible to select neutral from first with what feels like some sort of physical obstruction stopping the shift. An amount of extra pressure (such as when changing gear up through the box) breaks through this barrier and it drops straight into second. The problem is not experienced when the engine is stopped or if the bike is moving. This started happening immediately after the 3750 mile service and before that point there had never been any gear shift issues with the change to neutral being smooth and resistance free. The clutch cable is adjusted correctly so the only thing that I can think of that has changed in this area is the oil. I am talking to the dealer on the issue but was wondering if anybody had come across a similar issue or had any ideas

My first thought after the checks already made is that maybe the wrong oil has been used. I once put the wrong oil in a Renault 5 gearbox. The gearchange was so stiff it was undriveable. If it worked ok before the service then clearly the dealer has done something wrong.

I concur with Rattlebattle. Based on what you've said I suspect the mechanic has used an incorrect oil, possible one with lesser viscosity at operating temp.

Nope its the clutch. There are any number of posts in this forum with a the same issue. When the clutch gets hot the plates buckle and the changenbecomes near impossible. Check for cover flex and if you can see the gearbox cover flexing when you pull the clutch lever then fit a stiffener (available on this site) and for the definitive fix replace the cluch plates with the bonded cork ones which are thinner and so give more clearance also available from our hosts.

I think it might be the wrong oil making the clutch sticky. I once put the wrong oil in a little 125 Honda (which you wouldn't think was that fussy) and the gear change was horrible.
I had to strip and clean the plates; just changing the oil didn't sort it really.
Perhaps the mechanic thought "Enfield = straight 40"
