Hi PAPASMURF---------Well done for that vid. as it shows quite clearly that my stand has a small peg missing from the R/H side....PLUS}----when it showed the two different heights of the stands it also showed that both the R/H and L/H pins are at the same height.... Great, I feel a week-end of "Custer's Last" coming on !! ( If SWMBO will issue a pass that is !!).....I'll let you know how I get on...Cheers chaps..

Hi guys-------- It's nearly 11am Friday morning and I've been "at it" for a couple of hours now with some interesting results !!...1st}---- the so-called "missing spigot" on the R/H side of the mainstand...Well, surprise-surprise it's not actually missing but in a different location, so no need to make any new parts( That's a relief !!)...Remember this bike of mine is a Bullet '65 and there are 1 or 2 subtle changes from the basic Classic 500 machine..2nd}--- There appears to have been a mod. done to the cylinder head exhaust port which you can see quite clearly in the photo...However this stub is not screwed into the head ( preferred ) like some Triumph bikes I've seen but is a press fit, with the main pipe either going inside ( as received on the bike ) -- OR with the mainpipe going over the outside and then held in place with a finned exhaust pipe clamp....More later !!-------https://ibb.co/cSJBGk

I'd even taken that plate off, checked the tappet settings and replaced it and NOT noticed....A neighbour pointed it out recently....Apparently my new glasses are ready at the opticians so that's ok then...Mind you it does get a few Wry comments from the more "serious" Brit. Bike riders...but only after the obligatory "Is it a REAL one or an Indian one, mate "?? has been aired !!

Hi Guys----and many thanks to all of you for the support ( I shall wear it often ) and tech.advice........A pleasant afternoon's work saw the old exhaust pipe wire-brushed and painted heat-resistant Matt-Black...(I'll do the silencer over the weekend as I've run out of paint )...whilst the two new mainstand springs EVENTUALLY went on.... Hi Guys--------Hi LEON, yes a friend of mine used to own a 350 Bullet and he had the same on that....I used to run a Moto Guzzi California 1100i which had a longer one fitted whilst I've seen some Harleys with their own version as well....Personally I found it easier to deploy than the usual set-up and once I had learned to trust the metallurgy ie}--- the curved stand wasn't going to suddenly collapse, I quite liked it...

Hi Guys------just by way of an up-date}--- Since fitting those new springs I've done a fair few miles including deploying the mainstand with impunity ( that's someone I met at a Beeza rally ) and a little, niggling problem has come to light viz}-- the diameter of the spring's wire is a tad on the large side compared to the recess in the stand's spigot.. This has resulted in the spring working its' way off the lower spigot !!-- NOT NICE !!---A little bit of "tweak-city" saw 1st}-- the springs' upper hook persuaded into a more round shape courtesy of the 6" Bench vice and then fitted on via a "Persuader "...( "Get on there my son !!" etc, etc ).......2nd}--a flat steel washer split, opened and fitted over the spigot... A pair of mole grips then closed it up until it was just touching the bottom of the spigot recess... So we now have Mr. Spring--him stay put thus result = HAPPY CHAPPY !!....Not much when compared to other "Owner input" challenges but as MICK H says}--they are "Little Bar Stewards"....Image
