My old Redditch 350 is currently running points and I have considered converting to electronic ignition. Nobody seems to want to provide a 6V system for a bike that runs an alternator & distributor. I have spoken with Boyer and they advised the problem is that if the battery disconects the alternator can put circa 200v through the electrics. If I convert the bike to 12V they will provide a system and offer a warranty. I don't really understand why having a 12v battery and coil will eliminate the problem of 200v volts going through the electronics. Its the same alternator !!!! I don't want to convert to 12V so perhaps somebody could explain
