Charlie, see the Accessory Shop under Gearbox, Part No 90024, Trials gear pair. Bear in mind these won't fit the later (1959 onward I think,) British made Albion gearbox but they should fit the Albions up until that date and the Indian version of it. My Works Replica has a different set of internal ratios but I'm not sure what the tooth count is, I forgot to take note when I rebuilt it!

Hi, the early boxes have a different tooth form which will not mesh with later parts, therefore I don't think the conversion will fit unless you change the meshing cogs as well. Found this out on my isdt when I broke a cog and fitted a later cog which locked it up. Re the engine, check the timing side main shaft as the rollers run directly on the shaft so could be a touch expensive. This is a short shaft engine which is narrower hence ideal for trials but will have early cams. Vince

Mark. Many thanks for the quick reply, unfortunately I think those gears are for 1959 onwards. So perhaps they are in your works rep? No problem I'll keep using my 56 tooth rear sprocket, it slows things down on the road but works well off road. Cheers Peter

Sorry Charlie, Vince is right and I got it a**e about face. This gear pair fits late (59>) boxes not the early ones. Apologies,

No problem Mark and thanks Vince for your advice, I can get by with what I have. Interestingly my 1949 parts book does show options for the gears, but they are not on our hosts list. I'll give them a ring for clarification.
