Hi all, after a 5year break I'm ready to fix the sprag clutch which laid up my bike! Everything else was OK before, but even with fully charged battery there is no sign of life anywhere in the electrics, fuses and connectors all seem fine. I have the WS manual from India which surprisingly doesn't contain a wiring diagram??? I have looked at the EFI one on here (thanks) but it obviously isn't exactly the same, could someone please point me in the right direction to find one, I've searched a lot of threads without success!

After a long lay up a couple of things that would be worth checking is the earth lead from the battery to the frame and the ignition switch, either of which would cause a complete power fail.

Presumably you have checked the voltage of the charged battery? A 5 year old battery is unlikely to recover even if charged.

Thanks for the replies and the diagram. I have cleaned the earth, which was OK and tested the switch , so now have a pilot light!

I agree that the battery is not tip top, but it holds a charge enough to complete circuits as a start - there are some odd things in the loom, like a tiny 'valve' on the '+' feed from the battery ( not on solenoid line) and on the '-' a length of green wire with a male and female bullet and 2 female snap connectors so all could be joined together! I have no idea where they came from, ...the penalty for not photoing progress.

Once I've got the system sorted I'll look into the sprag, though I've been told it's not available anymore. Cheers Steve

There is a green wire emerging from the loom on the neg side of the battery with bullet connectors. That is the side stand cut out wire from the switch to the TCI unit. With the connection made the cut out function is in circuit, broken and it is out of circuit. You should see an earth from the switch with the stand down on one half of that wire.

Don't use that diagram, it's for the wrong model - classic engine Bullet, not the Electra-X! (Sorry, AA maniac.)

The first PDF is one of their own helpfully showing the different sections of the electrics, it's not labelled in English, though comparison with the factory diagram will help you work it out.

Many thanks for this, straight away i can see that the current goes through the ampmeter before the switch, so just need to get to it.

Thanks Frank for info regarding cut out, I recall disconecting it, and the second one will feed the stop switch, I guess. Battery is showing 10.5 volts which should be enough to check continuity for lights etc and hopefully a spark.

10.5 volts is at least one dud cell in the battery.

Yes, the battery is poor, and I'm getting a new one tomorrow, but it made the difference between nothing and now having the lighting system etc working - to check over poor earth's etc. Certainly wouldn't want to risk a new sprag and weak battery scenario!
