I have a 1935 K model (V-twin) which is fitted with a Royal Enfield sidecar (2 seater, from the factory). Most sidecars have a means of adjusting the tow in and also the lean out. However, ths does not seem possible because of the mounting arrangement at the lower rear. It has a straight fixed fitting which cannot be swiveled or adjusted which negates anything you might do on the other attachments. As original large Enfields are rare especially with the heavier duty sidecar, I have so far been unable to find any details or help. Does anyone have any information on this please. I could add photos to demonstrate but this forum appears not to have the ability to show photos.

I am puzzled by the "lack of adjustment" on the lower rear fitting. How is it attached either end?

Yes I do recall posting something similar quite sometime back. I may not be able to get lean but there is no obvious way to adjust toe-in.
It is possible for the front and top adjustments but when the attachment down by the rear wheel is flat surface to flat surface (non-adjustable)it makes for a problem. Thanks for the replies.
Does anyone have a parts illustrations of the various sidecar frames?
I have a 1936 RoyalEnfield sidecar frame and it IS adjustable at the rear wheel mounting. Unfortunaely that mounting cannot be used on the heavier duty chassis.

The mountong on this machine is quite unusual. There are the usual 4 mountings, 2 upper and 2 lower. There is also an extra one that goes from the front upper to the back lower.
At the top front there is an eccentric bolt which really only adjusts the height of the sidecar, for example if it is sagging at the front.
The extra strut is, I guess, a stiffening one and both this and the rear lower mounting are jointly attached the the same mount and are flat surface to flat surface with no way of adjustment.

Thanks for your patience papasmurf and the photo. Unfortunately mine is nothing like that but it has given me some ideas. I have looked at how to get a picture onto the bulletin Board. Photobucket was no problem but how to then share it stumped me. You have no problem apparently. A picture would explain what my words are failing to do.
Is there another way I can send you some photos?
When I say flat surface my meaning is that there is no swivel point as in your photo. A stud (bolt) which incorporates a distance spacer (1 piece) is attached to the rear frame mounting hole. It then goes through the frame (and the strut which goes up to the top front) and a nut at both ends of the stud. The mounting looks original and as I am the second private owner after the original I have no reason to think it isn't. The bike is unrestored so its not like someone at a later date decided to change it ... yet it has toe out which is the last thing I want.

From memeory, you need to send them photos of the bike, the frame numbers and copy of the receipt for the prayer mat used to worship the bike, before they will let you in. LOL!
