Hi Adrian,
I have found a left hand switch that has (at least) the same functions as mine, perhaps in an older style, but at least the good wires are in the good side of the handlbar. I had seen "mine" by the past on Ebay, but they have vanished since.

Thank you, the first one is the standard 1999 and later kick start classic Bullet version, I have one of those on my Redditch/AVL hybrid, the though decompressor (not valve lifter!) and cold start use traditional handlebar levers.



The second item you link to is definitely not what the factory fitted to the UK Electra-X, though it might be more robust if someone wanted to order one and try it. It couldn't be any worse! I am assuming the wiring connections are the same. It's a little late for my Electra-X though, as I no longer have this bike - well I do and I don't, but that's another story.
