Scotty: do you think that having a carb problem and not using the bike for two months is silly?
This topic is getting longer just because the problem is not yet fixed and many kind bikers are trying to help me.
I also hope that, once I fix it, it could be useful to people facing my same issues.
I don't think that mix some joke in the discussion is so strange...
If this topic is boring you just ignore it.
Greetings

@Adrian

It seems the original carburator just works with the 0.20 throttle valve.

Do you suggest me to order this part or the whole carburettor. In case, the standard carburattor I can order from Hitchcock will be the right one for my Bullet with PAV?

@Jassie

I cleaned the carb many times with spray... do you think spray is not good as real "bath"? If so I will try it!

Simplo,

how many paper weights would you like? ASSUMING consistent manufacture - unlike your mystically diagnosed main jets - just buy the slide.

You mentioned it still has the PAV, this can be removed, and the exhaust pipe and carb flange fittings blanked off and sealed against air leaks. You're not saving the planet by leaving it on.

Just spraying carb cleaner doesn't necessarily remove stubborn blockages in some of the tiny drillings in the carb body. You need to try and blow them through with compressed air or even have the carburettor ultrasonically cleaned.

Yes,proper cleansing of the idle circuit. rreading between the lines one problem is/was that the bike would occasionally only run on tick-over when you added fuel by operating the enrichening ("choke") device. When the supply of fuel from the starter jet stopped the bike would stall.

That would suggest the idle circuit itself is either not flowing any fuel or flowing insufficient fuel for the bike to run properly - probably due to blockage. A sporadic blockage problem such as this could be caused by a flake of paint which when laying down allows fuel or air to flow (no blockage) but when disturbed sits up et voila the blockage appears.

Hi all!

Good news!! It meems I finally fixed the carb!

It seems to be only a matter of "cleaning"!

As suggested I unassembled the carb in singlke parts and let it bath in a carb cleaning solution for 3 days on a closed bin.

Then I blowed every single part with compressed air and reassembled.

I used all original parts except for the needle and the main jet, picked up from the new carburator, but specs where exaclt the same as the old parts.

The engine started with choke at first attempt (as it done for 10 years) and it idled without choke even after a few seconds.

It responds to throttle correctly even if still cold and with any air screw position, even if it coughs occasionally if mixture is too lean or too rich.

It also reacts to air screw settings as it would do.

I tested it yestarday and today without problems.

Next days I will reactivate insurance and test it on the road.

That's incredible (at least for me) how a little particle od dirt can be so important and also so hard to clean; as I wrote I cleaned the carb with air at least 10 times, before.

I would like to really thank you all very very very very much for all your support, tips, advices and patience.

I learned so much about carbs from all of you!

This is really a great community! Royal Enfield owners are very good people! :)

Tons of beers are waiting the ones of you that will be in Sardinia, that is also really a biker's paradise!!

Thanks also to tolerate my bad english.
