hi my 350 Indian bullet has a loud/harsh tappet type noise. I've checked the clearances and inspected the rockers but still no difference just wondering if anyone may have any ideas? many thanks

Could be that the cam gears are a bit noisy. You can get adjustable cam spindles to take up the slack and quieten things down, but that just moves the slop further up the train of the timing gears that drive the contact breaker on a classic Bullet engine. I would leave things as they are, though a new set of cams with less worn gear teeth and a new crankshaft timing pinion MIGHT reduce the rattle a little. Or possibly not. A.

Hi, check if there is any play in the tappet guides as they can cause a tapping noise. Also check you have oil circulating. Vince
