Anyone know the output of an efi alternator please? Can't find it on Google!

It doesn't specify the output in my w/shop manual. To test it the manual advises that it should produce 8 to 10 volts ac @ 1,000 rpm - open circuit across any two of its wire (sic) - yellow-yellow. If the voltage is less than this, scrap the bike, sorry; change the alternator. In other words join any two yellow wires from the alternator with it disconnected from the reg/rectifier and measure the ac voltage at 1,000 rpm. It should be 8 to 10 volts. The manual also advises the next step as checking for increased battery voltage with respect to increased revs. If that doesn't happen replace r/r as alternator is ok. Easiest way is to turn on headlight and see if it goes brighter when the engine is revved. Of course, if all you wanted to know is the maximum output so that you can work out what goodies it will power, disregard all of this....

No load test is approx 15Vac at tickover to around 40Vac..

When regulated at 14 volts

2000rpm = 3.75 amps - 52.5 Watts.

3000rpm = 12.5 amps - 175 watts

6000rpm = 13.95 amps - 195.30 watts

This from the Sparx test results mainly concerning standard Triumph 3 phase, not RE but very simular..

OK, thanks that helps as looking for a non Enfield reg/rec. A friend bought one from norbsa which is working OK on his but I'm sure it's not rated for a near 200w alternator!

I have a A REG ONE from Paul Goff (Norbsa) It will handle 25amp 300watts.

It's been on the Bullet for years and not put a foot wrong.

Just put one on the Cub as well after it blew it's Zenor. That's working a treat as well.

They both regulate to 14.2 which I understand is ideal.

So, is the RE workshop manual wrong? Just wondering. FWIW I'd fit an aftermarket rr too; I've had one of Goffy''s (a friend of mine who is in the same classic bike club) for years on my Tiger 100. He sells good stuff.

An EFI Bullet needs a modern 3 phase r/r. Some older Brit bikes (and Indian Enfields) are single phase. I think it depends if they have an alternator or a magneto. Just something to watch out for when using classic bike specialists for EFI parts. It's not like bikes were in the good old days, even though it looks like one.
