Simon, good idea to re-post this but why didn't you do it when you found the problem? We were all waiting for you! And by the way, which was the answer that Les H gave as he seems to have flagged several possibilities?

Im pretty sure I did post the answer on another thread about the same issue somewhere. Les mention the slipping of the pump and whilst it wasnt a broken tooth it was the pump drive slipping. Perhaps not the exact cause but definitely the right area.
