i have a classic 350 electra , there is a blanked off hose coming out of the back of the timming case ?
Is this pipe a Breather ? as i have excessive oil leakage from the pipe if unblocked and a duck bill hose fitted to keep negitive pressure.
i also have a breather from the top of the oil tank without excessive breather problems !

Think i'm right in saying its the return pipe from the catch can which some people blanked off to prevent mayonnaise running back into the motor..

Just blank it off and add the duckbill to the top oil tank hose..

Pete F has a nice description written up, maybe along in a minute.

Spot on, this IS the connection for the catch can return pipe. If the 350 Electra is the same as the 500 Electra-X in this department it looks like a pressed in piece of steel tubing which you can block off by whatever ingenious means occur to you. A few years ago there was a brief fad for fitting something called the Bunn breather kit (I think it was Australian in origin) which kept this connection.

Yes, that's the drain for the catch can. IMHO the whole catch can system should be removed and binned.

If it's the same as the 500 Electra x there is a duckbill but on the inside, intended to allow oil from the catch can back to the motor but not pressure out. So if you wanted to use this as an extra breather you'd need to remove the duckbill from the inside of the timing cover (not saying this is a good idea). The plenum space in the timing cover and the crankcase should be one so have equal pressure.
