Didn't we go through all this with the Himalayan? A.

After all the criticism of the new bike when they artfully released those "spy" pictures I'd say the Factory have quietly gone back to the drawing board, at least in styling terms. What's more interesting to me is what's happened to the much trumpeted new UK R & D department? No ground broken, no UK address and no sign of any projects to actually do any R n' D on!

It seems to me that the home market very much takes precedence. What other manufacturer still hasn't produced Euro IV bikes for sale in Europe two months after it no longer has anything other than old stock to sell? FWIW my dealer has stopped selling REs because he's had some of the same bikes stuck to the showroom floor for two years...

Some interesting numbers to support Rattlebattle's comments - Total units produced by Royal Enfield y/e Dec 2106 = 415,000 Total Exports = 9,500. Total new royal Registrations UK (inc private imports) 645. (Figures from India Times and MCIA for UK figures). Don't hold your breath that many new models will be coming here soon - the Himalayan is like Father Christmas, some may have seen him but no one believes in him anymore!!

RE Bruntingthorpe has only just been built, give it a chance.

Is it actually built? Can't find anything that says it is, planning permission given in April 2016 but no completion date. Anyway, that's not the point. What will the Twin look like when it appears?!

Sorry - ref my previous post, the production figure I gave for 2016 appears to be only Oragadam. The total production of motorcycles for Oragadam and Thiruvottiyur combined for y/e 31 Dec 2016 was 498,791. The main thrust of my argument is that at 0.0012% of production, sales of new Royal Enfield models into the UK rarely, if ever pops into the frontal lobes of Mr.Lals' brain! As an aside, the Harborough District Council website gives the following update on the new shed at Bruntingthorpe - Building Control Applications (1)

Two storey steel framed research and development unit incorporating motorbike design/testing/offices for Royal Enfield
