I don't know what the correct name for this is, which is why I can't search on line for it.
Does anyone remember that on some old British bikes we used to have a deflector plate clamped between the carb and the inlet port which deflected the petrol which overflowed when ticking the carb away from the magneto beneath it.
I'd quite like to find a supplier if they are still made. It doesn't look as though Enfields had them fitted when new so I can't see anything on our host's website.

BSA used a very neat design, try Draganfly for it or probably any large BSA parts supplier. It was fitted to A10s and other bikes in the A range. Early Bullets had a plate which actually fitted under the magneto strap to divert fuel from the sparks but I can't find it on the Online Parts Books here.

Thanks Mark and Pete. Draganfly have it listed in their catalogue. Carburettor drip tray. I'm curious about the original Enfield item though. I'll troll through the parts lists again.

Way back in the 80's, I had a deflector made out of an old can on an A7, bloke refused to do an MOT with it fitted. Tried to explain that petrol and sparks don't mix that well but he was totally ignorant. It is a furniture shop now.

No, zinc plated. If you want to see something really exorbitant, how about this one?

Possible listing error?

Mind you, this is bad enough, see item 302160989685 .

I know of someone only a few years ago who managed to torch his Super Meteor thanks to a petrol leak onto the mag, so getting one of these (or making your own) might still be a good idea.

They are just under £19 from Draganfly, which doesn't seem excessive, o I've ordered one. There are a few on eBay which are a lot more, from £40 to £99. I've no idea what the correct price is for the one listed at over a grand.
