My 350 had a rebuild less than 250 miles ago, and I've just received a compression tester as an early xmas pressie. Not done a warm reading yet as I'm part way through changing the carb and sodding about with timing and electrics, but I got a reading of 90 when cold. At 17 stone though, the kickstart doesn't hold me up :-)

Just a followup on this:As the oil consumption was a bit high and white smoke at start-up I decided to change the rings. So a local garage de-glazed the cylinder, I gapped and installed new rings and ground in the valves. There seems to be a lot more power now and no smoking. Not a huge difference in the time taken for the starter lever to drop but she is a happier girl now! Just waiting for the weather to improve a bit now (whimp)
Thanks for all your comments,
Balf
