Need more info, does it have a V5 with the current engine and frame numbers on it? Transferrable registration? Is it a runner? MOT? (Maybe exempt but it gives possible buyer some reassurance.)

Hello Enfieldtrials, it seems for me that the frame is more a post 51' model G than a J one, as there isn't a tool box on the drive side, and that it is not so easy to fit a 350 engine in a 500 frame (at the difference of Bullets, the 350 and 500 pre-Bullet, even if they look similar don't share a lot of parts, especially for you the crankcases, the frame and the engine plates).
The good new is that there are a lot of WDCO ones for sale (not so different to the G ones), that will perfectly fit. Have a look at our host's Parts Books Online to see them, if you don't have acces to the frame numbers.
Hope it will help you if you want to negociate.

I suppose it depends a little on what you mean by 'evaluate'.

If you are looking to set a price for it in order to sell, I can't help you. But I will tell you, that it's only worth what anyone would pay for it.

If you are looking to restore it, then it's a lot of work.

The bike in itself looks good, and has all the important parts, included the rear stand. The sole problem is that the WD/C engine has a mere 12 hp and isn't the original mount, that's why I spoke about the WDCO engine, witch at least, is an OHV, and can hold a few unexpensive improvements (a lot of Bullet parts are compatible). I saw that (apologies to Mr H) Burton Bikes Bits has some in stock.
Hope it will help you
