H'i all can any one tell me how I can get the wires from the alternator through the grommet at the top of the chaincase. Iv'e been trying for the past hour with no luck. the wires go through but not the sleeving. Iv'e put oil on the sleeving ,cursed it and all things I can think of but no luck, Any ideas or tricks will be appreciated. Steve. And wishing you all a HAPPY and SAFE NEW YEAR.

Get some shrinkable sleeving, a hair dryer is sufficient.

Fishing line, around each lead, pull though one at a time. May need to guide the last one into the grommet to get it started...

Hi Steve I usually find the stretchy tape round the top of the sleeveing pulled tight to a peak as you wind it on bury a bit off .nylon fishing line in it, put the peak into grommet then gently pull push and through she comes

Bind the end with fine strong string or linen thread and the without tying it off pull the loose end through. As it uncoils it will corral all the frayed ends through the hole.

Hi all I'm back. thanks for your input, I had to go with the fishing line Idea as swmbo saw me sneaking out with her hair dryer and was not happy with my reasons for having it. Anyway it worked a treat so thanks tim. steve.

Easy peasy. Using long nose pliers poke them through one wire at a time. Actually you can put two in for a start, then the other/s just one at a time. Unfortunately I have had to do this many times. (don't get me started on sprag clutches)
