Can anyone date Albion gearbox numbers? Just wondering if mine is the correct type for a 59 500 Bullet, its AGE 605. From a previous post from a few years ago, I know my spare case is a twin AGD 724, but could someone confirm Bullet ones, and is there a difference between 350's and 500's?

Chris, AGE seems to be the code for 1959-60 Super Meteor and Constellation, also Meteor Minor Standard and Sports for 1960.

Chris, I've got a 1959 Bighead engine and gearbox here, I'll have a look and see what's on that.

Kevin, my 1959 Meteor Minor had AG 934 Stamped on gearbox and just below iron barrels. No AGE though.....

Chris, I just checked the number on the gearbox that came with the 1959 Bighead engine and it is AGE 836. Of course I don't know if it's original but given the close match to yours it looks like it's right. Also, there is no difference between 350 and 500 boxes but there are differences in internal ratios for some models in some years. Only the Parts Books reveal the truth!

Mark, has your bighead got the number stamped twice? Here is Kevin's gearbox and on engine below fins so other guys can check.
