Hello to all. I am near compleation on my 1961 Fury 500 project. All pieces are all together. Only thing I am missing are the folding foot pegs. Which I believe we're original to the bike. I tried our hosts and others (BBB) but can not locate the parts. If some one got a set for sale I would be interested.(long shot) if some one has orignal foot pegs I would really appreciate few pictures so I can attempt to make my own.also please advise if the Fury had passenger foot pegs as it has full length seat.
Any help would be appreciated.
Jessie.

Jassie - Will our hosts folding footrests (cat. no. 92765) not do the trick?

Jessie,

this is an old catalogue shot showing a Fury apparently without pillion rests:

The following picture was very kindly e-mailed to me by a gentleman who had restored this Fury, it has both rider AND pillion footrests:

You pays your money and you takes your choice!

Barry, our hosts' folding footrests are different, they fold back rather than up - the Redditch items look like they actually use pillion-type footrests bolted into the main forging. It might be possible to modify a set of conventional footrests to suit.

Any help?

Hi, Sorry to butt in on your thread, your quiry got me looking on the web, according to an american site there were 191 furys made plus 10 350cc and a short run of 600cc. Has anyone any details of the latter models?

RE the folding footrest AMC did the same on their comp models ,just used pillion footrest on modified mountings.
Vince PS if the 600 existed was it bored or stroked?

Thanks for the pictures Adrian. I can see the foot rests pretty good. It still be nice to see some more and a few dominisions if possibles. Once from India Enfield look different. I wanted to look orignal as possible.

Jessie, I have one right side NOS footrest from a Trials machine. It is very similar to the Fury one. I can't be sure but I think the position when fitted would be slightly different to the one in the picture but I'm sure the general arrangement would be the same. The actual folding footrest part is the pillion footrest Part Number 29761 as used originally on the 125cc Flying Flea but also used on the Indian Chief and possibly other models.

Vince,

I think there were about 20 or so sent out badged as Big Head Indian Westerners (still 500s). This one - a classic flat-tracker - came up on ebay in the USA (photo from ebay) a couple of years ago.
