[center]I forgot to add that Both my bikes carry first aid kits. Kevin has a red one, Tornado a green one.

Somebody asked about the approved mixing bottle.

Image

The first pic shows the fuzzy contents of one of Tornado's biscuit tins, Visible are (edge of) green first aid kit, Grey oil bottle, petrol can, poncho, field dressing, Enfield workshop manual and other stuff in buff folder.

This is the mixing bottle which is generally used to create 2 stoke fuel. In this case it just has 97 octane. It is made from very thick plastic which even an elephant with Parkinson's would find hard to destroy. Also, our local (fussy beyond reason) BP garage have no problem with it being filled and they are hot as hell on official containers.

I don't carry much.. Some instant puncture repair goop, a pump, a set of spanners, a screwdriver (double ended), spark plug, some wire, cable ties, feeler gauges and a first aid kit. Let's face it, nobody is going to do a full strip and rebuild on the roadside.. (even though, I'm sure, someone will say they have..) So I carry an emergency repair kit. Not a fully equipped garage.

The most important thing I always have with me is the cell phone...

Forgot to mention the CO2 canisters to pump up the tyre. Long since given up using any form of tyre inflating gloop. In my experience it never works in a tubed tyre, though might work in a tubeless one if the hole isn't too big, but why bother if you can plug the hole easily anyway. Others may have had some success but I prefer something dependable myself.

Rattlebattle, I have a Lezyne Mini hi volume pump which is just under 10" long and fits in a pannier. About 50 strokes to inflate to 35psi (and then exhaustion and a terrible thirst quickly follows so its really only any use in a pub car park!)

I have an el cheapo 12v pump too. I tend to take that when I go abroad, something I've not yet done on my C5, for which I don't yet have panniers. Another omission from my list is a spare spark plug - local and longer trips. A leftover from the days when it still had the EFI system on it.....
