To get any dissimilar metal corrosion there needs to be an electrolyte present. Water will do but the effect is minimal. Salt water would have a much bigger effect so if you ride around in the sea a lot...........

Or on salty roads of course if you don't wash it off regularly.

Just remembered the stuff we used to use on marine applications when assembling stainless to aluminium. Duralac; it stopped corrosion very effectively.

Perks of riding in England all year round (maybe I should clean my bikes more often). Started getting wary of copper-slip after seeing aluminium engine room deck plates being eaten where people had used copper-slip on steel hold down screws.
