I have for years bemoaned the decline of British and American steel used for quality tools that would last for decades if looked after.
I have spanners/wrenches dating back to WW2 purchased from army surplus, the quality of which you will never see again i'm afraid.
First Indian steel seemed to be everywhere but now Chinese junk is all you can get..
Sure we've all seen the videos, Chinese bridges that collapsed due to "fake" steel used in its construction, elevators and escalators that kill people are commonly reported..
Now we hear they are heavily involved in the Hinkley Point nuclear project..
Now doubt we will get what we deserve and not what we pay for....
